Module 7: Actors sharing their story

In this module we’ve explored acting in its various forms and the types of actors who are drawn to the arts. Here are several interviews with acting talents for you to explore. You will need to select one a discussion board response post for this module.   

Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali is known for his work in stage, film, television and streaming platforms (Moonlight, Hidden Figures, Green Book, Alita: Battle Angel, forthcoming Blade), here he talks with Noel Manning about his award-winning role in the movie Moonlight.

Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Laura Dern shares thoughts about the Netflix Original “Marriage Story” with Noel T. Manning II on this Meet me at the Movies extra. Marriage Story has been recognized as one of the best films of 2019. Laura Dern has been nominated for her role in this film as best supporting actress by the Critics’ Choice Association, the Golden Globes, The Screen Actors Guild, The Satellite Awards, and others.

Feature film actor Noah Jupe (Honey Boy, Ford v Ferrari, a Quiet Place, Wonder) chats with Noel T. Manning II on Meet me at the Movies. Noah has also been nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Supporting Actor and Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Actor (both for Honey Boy). 

Oscar winning talent Charlize Theron & director Jay Roach share about their journey into bringing the critically acclaimed film “Bombshell” to the big screen. Noel T. Manning II interviews the two for a Meet me at the Movies extra.

Film legend Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, Freaky Friday, Christmas with the Kranks, a Fish Called Wanda, True Lies) chats with Noel T. Manning II about her work on critical success and crowd-pleasing Knives Out. She also talks about body switching with another cast member.
